Ben, ive looked up to you for most of what i remember of my life. you were my role model in life. i basically worshiped  you lol. i wanted to grow up to be like you, when i first heard you guys started as a cover band i begged for a guitar for my birthday and started doing all kinds of covers of your songs.... back then though that seemed easy. now.. life sucks... and even when i drink, smoke, party, write songs, play guitar... i know i fail.. ive failed pretty hard my whole life now that i look at it. i tried to be me but i didn't know who me was. still don't...  tried to love and.. well it just never works for me, i loved her but i know its not meant to be... epically failed school, and for some reason thought it would be easier to do what you do... now i understand all of your songs and seeing what your going through now...its scary seeing your role model go through this. and now im grown up and living. i dont know if you drank the pain away or made music to help separate your mind from this fucked reality... or what you did to get thru with life. idk why im posting this. you probably never read these things but for some reason i got this deep feeling i should. and i just have one question... dont know why im asking you on this website of all. but what do i do? to be honest... im scared shitless of whats going to become of my life... spent so much of it trying to be like you... didnt think i would fail but i did... so only thing i can think of is.. well to ask the one i looked up too all this time... its not your fault i looked up too you. i just liked the way u guys sounded and how awesome you were for playing all the same games that i like to play, how all of your songs and most covers inspired me... how easy and fun at the time i thought you made life seem.. now i know that your life wasn't easy either, still isn't from what i hear... my life is my own fault and now i know im just a screwup who doesn't know what to do, where to go, why im still alive, and cant find anyone that has the answer. for some dumb reason here i type this hopeing for a answer that i know im not going to find. but for some reason i got a really deep feeling i should, sorry everyone for the huge comment.

side note..how does ben burnley not remember the words to "water"? thats one of thee best songs he has wrote. i can sing that song word for word. in fact on my earlier comment when breaking benjamin played the staircase in 2002 they sounded amazing on that song. i was in high school when nirvana came out..old BB is heavy with a nirvana vibe to their stuff..he has no idea how stellar their older stuff is..for me the songs on "saturate" and "we are not alone" i connect more to..both albums are well crafted..in fact in opinion "saturate" is just as good as nirvanas "nevermind"

I learned so much about Ben tonight, I didn't think it was possible to love him any more, but I just fell in love again. =) All I can say is WOW...

What an insightful interview.  It's always fun to learn details about your favorite rockstars. So thanks to listenin.org for that.

Ben - I hope you find suitable treatments for your illness.  I know how frustrating it is to have a chronic illness, as I have suffered from an autoimmune disease myself for the last 10 years.  Have faith, keep an open mind and never give up on finding a cure.  

Music has always been my drug of choice.  Your lyrics and your voice has provided the escape I have needed when my pain is at it's worst.  I thank you and your bandmates so much for that.  And hopefully I will get a chance to see you guys live next time around.

Ben the IS a cure  , I swear  , biomagnitisim , it's this thing with magnets, they put them on the problemd part of your body and it cures you in 3 or 4 sesions , You know if it does make yo feel any better , you have inspierd people , to go on with there life, go through the bad things and take it day by day , people make songs and want to live because of you guys ,  not many people have that influence , you guys rock ,,

I just want to say that I twice wrote a comment on Shallowbay.com and it didn't put it there, and I am pretty sure of it why didn't my comment put there. Because I wrote that I am from Serbia. I don't care about that ( why my comment didn't put ), but I think that is not right. And I wrote only the best for them. Anyway, I won't look at that private. For me, BB is the best band that I ever listen and I will listen them in the future. However, I will wrote that again, that I am from SERBIA!

Breaking Benjamin is one of my favorite bands.  I totally see myself in their band.  The boys have been a major influence for my songwriting as well as my band.  Thanks for being honest and real.

Ben is great.  You come off relatively charming.  Keep playing yourmusic and I will pass this to the boy who will love it.

I think it's a little late to leave a message for Ben, but wanted to say that some problems or not, with or without alcohol, with or without a cigarette, the essence of Ben always be the same and this is what attracted me to him, his simple way of being, we all have some kind of addiction, music, sex, drugs etc ... but the important thing is to be good about yourself independent of what anyone says, be like you and admire you for the same "you" Benjamin Burnley I really like, not the musician, the guitarist, not the voice, you were totally you. I send you this message here from Chile. I hope you understand, do not write in English, but Ben wanted to tell my point of view, excellent interview. Thank you.

I've seen so much what alcahol can do to a person and thats why I don't drink regually.. I'm glad you have done the right thing.. Too bad its kind of too late though but I guess too late is better then never though.. Now all you have to do is work on that smoking habit.. Then again we don't want you in jail lol..
